DEaW stands for Don’t End a Word - It is a two-player turn-based word game where you don’t want to add a letter that creates a word. Instead, you take turns adding a letter to either the front or back of the string of letters, trying to force your opponent to add a letter that makes a word. Each game ends with a challenge. You lose if you created a word or can’t come up with a valid word that includes the game string.
DEaW can be played with your friends, random opponents or against the computer. Stumped? Get a hint!
To add to the fun you can play in any of three game modes: timed, tournament and standard.
Do you like Scrabble or Words with Friends? DEaW is similar, with a twist. Finding words that contain a string of letters exercises satisfyingly different brain muscles than building words with a limited set of letters. With DEaW you’ll have to think deeper.
DEaW started out as a road trip game enjoyed by our family going back to the 1960’s. Now available as a smartphone app, we hope it will become a favorite of your family too.
